Text messaging for gyms and studios

Members cancel because they stopped coming, not because of the price. The text that gets someone back through the door in week three is worth more than any discount you could offer in month six.

  • No setup fee
  • Replies come to a shared inbox
  • Cancel any time

A member who misses two weeks is most of the way to cancelling, and nobody at the gym notices until the direct debit stops.

Messages

What gyms and fitness actually send

Real wording, not placeholders. Edit any of it in the portal, or start from these.

Class reminder

Hi Kate, spin at 6am tomorrow with Ali. Reply CANCEL if you cannot make it and we will give your spot away.

Waitlist offer

Hi Kate, a spot opened in tonight’s 6pm class. Reply YES within 30 minutes to take it.

Quiet member

Hi Kate, we have not seen you in a couple of weeks. Anything we can do? Reply here, or just come to Thursday 6pm.

Membership expiring

Hi Kate, your 12-week pass ends Sunday. Reply RENEW and we will sort it at the desk.

Full classes Reminders free up spots early and the waitlist fills them.
Members stay longer A text in week three costs cents. Winning a cancelled member back costs a lot more.
No app required Everyone reads a text. Not everyone installs your app.

How it connects to what you already use

Texts can be sent by hand from the inbox on day one. After that, connect what you already run: Integrations covers stores and payments, our free plugin covers website forms on your WordPress site, and anything else can trigger a text through Zapier or the API.

FAQ

Gyms and fitness questions

Can it text people who have not attended in two weeks?

If your gym software can send that list or fire a webhook, yes. Otherwise tag them in KiwiTxt and send in one go.

Can members reply to cancel a class?

Yes, into your shared inbox. Many gyms use a keyword like CANCEL so it is obvious at a glance.

Will it annoy members?

Only if you over-send. One reminder per class and one check-in when someone goes quiet is plenty, and the opt-out is always there.
