Order updates that actually reach your customers
Order emails can land in spam, get filtered, or never leave your server. KiwiTxt texts the customer instead, automatically, for every new order and every status you choose. Install the free KiwiTxt plugin, click Connect, and you’re done.
- Nothing to install
- You pick the statuses
- Set up in two minutes
“Where’s my order?” starts with an email nobody saw
WordPress sends mail from your web server, and inboxes don’t always trust it. Confirmations end up in spam or quietly disappear, and customers email, call, or cancel.
A text goes to their pocket
No spam folder, no promotions tab, no mail server settings to fight with.
Nothing to do by hand
Stop copying phone numbers into your phone after every order. Change the status and the text goes.
Customers can reply
Replies come back to your KiwiTxt inbox, so a quick question gets a quick answer.
Switch on the statuses you want. Each has its own message.
New orders and Completed are on from the start. Every other status comes with a message already written, switched off until you want it. Edit any of them.
Statuses added by other plugins (“Shipped”, “Ready for pickup” and so on) appear in your portal automatically once an order uses them.

Install
In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New, search “KiwiTxt” and install KiwiTxt SMS Notifications for WooCommerce.
Connect
Open WooCommerce → KiwiTxt SMS, click Connect and approve your store in KiwiTxt. The plugin sets up the webhooks for you.
Choose
Back in the portal, tick the statuses you want and tweak the wording.
Test
Send yourself a test, then watch real orders appear in the activity list.
Rather not add a plugin? In your portal, open Tools → WooCommerce for a link and secret, and add two webhooks (Order created and Order updated) under WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Webhooks.
The small things that stop awkward texts
Once per status
Re-saving an order, or moving it back and forth, never texts the same message twice.
No double-up at checkout
When payment clears seconds after checkout, the customer gets one text, never “thanks for your order” then “payment received”.
A tiny plugin that stays out of the way
It only sets up WooCommerce’s built-in webhooks. It never touches checkout, and your messages live in KiwiTxt, so changes never need a plugin update.
Every send in your portal
What was sent, to which number, how many parts, or exactly why it didn’t. Listed per order in your activity log.
Messy numbers, fixed
Phone numbers typed any way are converted to international format using the billing country.
Live part counter
See how many SMS parts a message uses while you write it, before it costs you anything.
Tags that fill themselves in
Drop any of these into a message and each customer gets their own details.

{last_name} | Customer’s last name |

WooCommerce questions
Do I need to install a plugin?
The free KiwiTxt plugin is the easiest way: search “KiwiTxt” in Plugins → Add New, click Connect, done. If you’d rather not, add two webhooks by hand in WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Webhooks with the link and secret from your portal, it works the same.
Do I need a KiwiTxt account?
Yes. Your portal is where you approve the store and choose the messages. KiwiTxt sends the texts, and replies land in your KiwiTxt inbox.
Does it replace WooCommerce emails?
No, it sits alongside them. Keep your emails for receipts and detail, and use texts so the important updates are actually seen.
Which phone number does it use?
The billing phone on the order, or the shipping phone if billing has none. It’s converted to international format using the billing country; landlines are skipped, and the activity list in your portal says why.
What if a text fails?
The reason shows in your portal’s activity list. A failed send isn’t counted as sent, so it goes out if the status is set again once the problem is fixed, and your WooCommerce webhook stays connected either way.
What if a customer doesn’t enter a phone number?
With the KiwiTxt plugin connected, your checkout asks every customer for a mobile number (it works with both the classic and block checkout), so every order can be texted. Disconnect the plugin and your checkout goes back to how it was.
Does it work with every payment method?
Yes. Cards, Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay, bank transfer, cash on delivery and any other gateway. For online payments the order text goes out once the payment goes through, so an abandoned or declined checkout is never texted. Offline methods like bank transfer are texted as soon as the order is placed.
Will it slow down checkout?
No. WooCommerce sends webhooks in the background after the order is saved, so checkout never waits on a text. It works with both the classic and block checkouts.
Can I use my own order statuses?
Yes. Statuses added by other plugins appear in your portal automatically after an order first uses them, or you can add one by name.
Works with the rest of your business too
Your next order could text the customer automatically.
Paste one link into WooCommerce, tick your statuses. That’s it.
